Martins cut his teeth as a Manager in the Advisory Group of a top Big Four Accounting Firm. He has extensive experience in providing Financial Statement Audit services, Financial Management Technical Assistance, Budgeting, Internal Audit, reviews of information systems security, infrastructure management, IT general controls reviews, SOX assessment services and revenue assurance services to clients in private and public sectors of the economy.
Mr Martins was a Financial Management Technical Resource person for the National Malaria Control Programme (NMCP). While the engagement lasted, he supported the Finance Function in coordinating the day-to-day activities for the preparation and implementation of the Primary Recipient function within NMCP; documentation of financial management policies, processes and procedures; documentation of system requirements and specifications to facilitate the selection of new accounting software; and provided operational guidance in the roll-out and implementation of financial management related policies, procedures and accounting system for the Primary Recipient function.
He also mentored accounts and finance personnel on best finance and controls practices, and trained accounts and finance personnel on new policies, processes and procedures during the engagement.
He was also the lead reviewer on financial management during the Malaria Performance Review (MPR) exercise conducted for SuNMaP, Abuja, Nigeria
He has B.Sc. in Accounting and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
ISO 27001 Lead Auditor. He is a member of the Information Systems and Audit Control Association (ISACA) and Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and a Registered Professional, Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria.
