Fatimah is a medical graduate and holds a Master’s in Public Administration from Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore. With over 10 years of experience in the field of Public Health in Nigeria, she has worked in various national, community, and school projects in the public sector, start-ups, and non-governmental organizations. She is passionate about health system strengthening and health promotion of children, adolescents, and youths to ensure improved health outcomes.
At PGS, Fatimah has coordinated the implementation of capacity building for Key Health workers on HIV/Syphilis duo test kits, aimed at upskilling their ability to promptly test for HIV and Syphilis to strengthen the health system and reduce preventable deaths in mothers. She has also supported state-level capacity improvement intervention and other major projects implemented by the organization.
She has also worked briefly as a Student Researcher and Research Assistant at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore. She also supported data management and performance analysis of the HIV/AIDS Program Development Project II (HPDP2) sponsored by the World Bank (in NACA).
As the Programs Coordinator of the Centre for Adolescent Health and Social Development, she has led the planning and implementation of 20 community and school projects in the country’s North Central, South-West, and South-South regions on WASH, menstrual health, nutrition, and sexual and reproductive health, with a total of 10,000 beneficiaries. She has also initiated and maintained engagement with implementing partners, developed puberty and sexual and reproductive health pamphlets, and oversaw the training of medical students from 10 African countries on NCDs and social behavior change communication.
Fatimah has certifications in Systems Thinking in Public Health, Economic Evaluation in Global Health, Communication for Health Managers, and Project in Controlled Environment (PRINCE2), all of which have been highly instrumental in her adeptness and ability to deliver on assignments.
